New Lincolnshire Co-op food store - Coates, Peterborough
Construction has commenced on a new £2.5m Lincolnshire Co-op food store in Coates, located on March Road.
The land, which was formerly used by a tractor repairs firm, is being transformed into a modern, community-focused retail space.
The new store will be an impressive 280 square metres, will feature 19 parking spaces, and is expected to create 13 jobs locally.
Opening in spring 2025, there will be a large range of essential items on offer, including freshly baked goods, fruit and vegetables, frozen produce, food on the go, meal options, and a variety of chilled beers and wines.
Customers can also look forward to browsing Lincolnshire Co-op’s popular Love Local range, featuring high-quality products from local producers such as Grasmere Farm, based in Peterborough, and Elgood’s Brewery, based in Wisbech.
Lincolnshire Co-op is an independent co-operative society operating services locally, including food stores in Whittlesey, Crowland, and Spalding, as well as a travel branch and funeral home in Spalding.

Raising money for good causes
Our Community Champions scheme sees hundreds of thousands of pounds go to good causes every year.
We make a donation to the scheme every time a member shops with their dividend card in store.
Our colleagues lead fundraising activities at events and thin our outlets, and customers are able to drop their change into collection pots.
We've already supported groups nearby, including the breakfast club at Park Lane Primary School.
