Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust
When the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust received over £70,000 in Community Champions funding, it couldn't have been better timed.
It was shortly after the tidal surge along the east coast, which devastated the trust's flagship Gibraltar Point visitor centre and with it its educational programme.
"The Community Champions funding helped us to get back on our feet and deliver our educational programme," explained Senior Communications Officer, Rachel Shaw.
"We are both membership organisations and to have the support of another Lincolnshire based membership organisation was a way of saying 'we are here for you'" Rachel added.
The Community Champions funding enabled the trust to rebuild its educational programme delivered at Gibraltar Point as well as Far Ings, Whisby Nature Park and Snipe Dales and support its Wildlife Watch groups for junior members.
Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust is delighted to be part of the 10th anniversary of Community Champions' celebrations as coincidentally 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of its first nature reserve, Gibraltar Point.
