Welton 1st & 2nd Brownies
Girlguiding, the largest youth organisation in the UK exclusively for girls, is committed to empowering girls of all ages, from 4 to 18 and everything in between. They firmly believe that girls are capable of achieving anything they set their minds to. Through a combination of fun, friendship, challenges, and exciting adventures, Girlguiding empowers girls to discover their own voices, encouraging them to unlock their full potential and make a positive impact within their community.
In 2015, Welton 1st & 2nd Brownies applied for the Community Champions scheme, successfully raising a total of £773.56 to be shared between the two units. These Brownies units have been running for many years, thanks to the dedication of passionate volunteers. Alex Berry, the unit leader from 1st Welton Brownies, expressed “the funds received have helped to purchase essential equipment for the unit meeting activities, without the support from Community Champions we would have struggled to offer the range of activities to the Brownies ”.
