New Lincolnshire Co-op food store - Laceby
We've started work on our first food store in Laceby.
We’re investing £1.8m in transforming the site of the former Laceby Arms on Caistor Road into a Lincolnshire Co-op convenience store.
Since April, our contractors have been hard at work. They have been renovating the old buildings on site including replacing brickwork with reclaimed bricks and installing a new roof, as well as putting in place extensive support for the structures.
The programme now focuses on creating the extensions at the back of the buildings as well as improvements to the access road and the car park.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you inside our new food store in early summer 2024. It will include and fresh and frozen food, chilled beers and wines, freshly baked goods, fruit and veg, a Costa Express machine, our Love Local range featuring products from the area and much more.
Our nearby outlets include The Willows food store and post office in Grimsby, Waltham Food Store and Keelby Food Store.
Car park plans
The work taking place requires us to close the car park at the rear of the site while construction takes place.
Although our contractors, Belvin Construction, are working to keep disruption to a minimum, safety needs to be our priority and the project includes significant work on the access into the site, which will happen in stages throughout the scheme.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we’ll do everything we can to ensure it’s not closed any longer than it needs to be.
Once our store opens, the car park will be available for the community to use once again.
The only parking restrictions will be a requirement to park in marked bays and to display a valid blue badge if using a disabled bay. We aren’t planning time or usage restrictions.
New business opportunity
Alongside our convenience store, there will be a pub unit which is currently being marketed by PPH Commercial.

Laceby in Bloom
From December until February 2024, Laceby In Bloom will be our Community Champions.
It means that every time a Lincolnshire Co-op member shops in Wybers Wood Food Store in Grimsby, a donation will go to the charity. It will be combined with colleague fundraising as well as change in collection boxes.
We’ll be looking for more charities and community groups to benefit from our Community Champions fundraising scheme in the future - find out more here.
Members get more...
At Lincolnshire Co-op, we have our own membership scheme and dividend card.
You'll receive dividend on your shopping and can spend it in store. We pay dividend on branded and own brand products, plus extra dividend on local, Fairtrade and fruit and veg.
There are lots more benefits too. Find out more here.
Community Champions
Hundreds of local charities and good causes benefit from our Community Champions scheme each year.
We make a donation to Community Champions whenever a member shops with their dividend card. We also add fundraising and proceeds from the carrier bag levy.
Each of our branches is linked to Community Champions in that local area. So, if you're from a group or organisation in Laceby that could benefit, find out more here.
We're also involved in the community in lots of different ways, from organising health walks to volunteering events. Find out more here.
