Boston pharmacist receives prestigious award
A local pharmacist has been selected out of 400 candidates to receive a prestigious award in recognition of her hard work and exceptional dedication during training.
Katarzyna Baluczynska completed her pre-registration placement at Lincolnshire Co-op’s Liquorpond Street Pharmacy as part of her training. Kat was subsequently honoured with Buttercups’ Pre-registration Trainee of the Year 2020 award.
Buttercups provides specialist training programmes in the pharmaceutical industry. Kat’s course prepared her for registration assessment and life as a newly registered pharmacist.
Buttercups Programme Tutor, Ellie Talbot, commended Kat’s dedication to person-centred care. She said: “Kat was a studious, helpful and hardworking trainee. She was always keen to support her fellow pre-registration trainees in a confident and caring way, happily sharing her knowledge and skills with others.
“It was a real pleasure to have her in my pre-registration training group and I’m extremely proud to see her being awarded. We all at Buttercups Training wish Kat the very best for a successful and progressive pharmacy career.”
Despite significant competition, Kat won overall from a final shortlist of three and was presented with a certificate, trophy, and gift vouchers to honour her achievement.
Kat said: “I was so surprised to win the award as all the students on the course were great – so competition was stiff!
“Through the Society, I was able to do all the training I wanted to do, including two courses and lots of in-branch training. My colleagues at Liquorpond Pharmacy shared all their skills with me and were so supportive throughout.”
