Changes to services at Carholme Road
After a few months of advertising alternatives for patients, Lincolnshire Co-op has now closed our Carholme Road Pharmacy – which was inside the busy food store and filling station in Lincoln – due to low prescription numbers.
Unfortunately despite our best efforts, the service was unviable and we had been subsidising it for a number of years.
Our average branch dispenses 9,900 items per month and our Winning Post Pharmacy dispensed much less than this, 2,100 per month. All our colleagues at the pharmacy were transferred to our other branches.
We’ve been advertising the alternative options for patients since May. They included transferring the prescriptions to our nearby Newland Pharmacy or our Burton Road Pharmacy. Our free home delivery service is also available for those who are unable to reach our branches. Patients order prescriptions in the usual way and we will aim to deliver within three working days of receipt from the GP surgery.
If we haven’t received a response from a customer, their prescription has been automatically transferred to Newland. It can be changed any time.
