Lincolnshire Co-op has been nominated for three awards at the prestigious People in Retail Awards 2024.

Congratulations to Bowbridge Road Food Store Manager Lynn Hallam who is up for Manager of the Year and Carlton Food Store Team who are nominated for Team of the Year and Store Champions of the Year.

The People in Retail Awards celebrate those who are unsung heroes in the retail side of organisations.

This year, the awards are taking place on Thursday 26th September at the Marriott Hotel in London. The colleagues are up against national and international retailers like Ikea, American Golf and The Perfume Shop.

Lynn joined Lincolnshire Co-op as a team leader and customer liaison representative in 2008 and secured a management position at Bowbridge Road Food Store in Newark after being an interim store manager in 2023. Dedication to the local community is at the heart of Lynn’s work, going the extra mile through fundraising and encouraging customer feedback. She also helps with the training and development of her colleagues and has inspired another to become a store manager.

Carlton Food Store team has been recognised for their positive working environment. From the recruitment process everyone worked well together, making the selection process challenging. At their induction, the team’s regional manager reported that he had never seen colleagues interact so naturally. Their teamwork skills have also made an impact on the local community. At the end of their training, the team volunteered at a local church, painting fencing and gardening. When the store opened, they all instantly bonded with customers because of their team spirit and helpful attitudes.
