We’re supporting the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Middle East Humanitarian Appeal by donating £10,000.

This appeal has launched to help millions of people across Gaza, Lebanon and the wider region who urgently need access to food, shelter and medical care.

We’re also promoting the appeal so people can make a personal donation if they wish.

To donate £10, you can text COOP to 70150. Texts to this number will cost £10 plus your standard network charge. You can also donate online at DEC.org.uk

Donations will help provide urgently needed food, clean water, medical care, emergency shelter, sanitation and hygiene, protection and trauma counselling.

£10 could provide blankets for two people, £50 could provide emergency food for five families for one week and £100 could provide emergency shelter for five families.

Laura Dunne, our Chief Purpose and Proposition Officer, said: “We are proud to be part of this initiative with the wider co-operative movement. We hope our donation will make a difference to many people in the region who are in urgent need of aid.”
