Sampling the summer
Our summer food tasting event was a real hit with our members who sampled everything from New York deli sandwiches to honey comb ice cream.
Snacks and nibbles, picnic food, lunches on the go, barbecue food, desserts and ice cream were all on display on bunting laden tables. Our staff were also getting in the spirit of summer, wearing sun hats, Hawaiian shirts and floral garlands as they chatted to guests.
After sampling red and white grape sparkling drinks and playing some hoopla, the doors were opened to reveal the colour-coordinated tasting stations filled with sandwiches, burgers and sweet treats.
Our nibbly picnic food was a real hit with Carol Eden: “The piccalli sandwiches are great. I love piccalli but don’t buy it often because a jar will go to waste, so if it’s available in sandwiches like this then I can have it whenever I fancy. The stuffed tomatoes are really tasty as well, they’d be ideal for a picnic."
Our summer fete theme really brought the food to life and a bit of sunshine to Lincolnshire. Brenda Little said: “I love food from Lincolnshire Co-op so I wasn’t surprised that it was delicious, but I loved how fun and well-organised the event was. It’s nice to be somewhere bright and cheerful when the weather’s like this."
Our Welton tasting event was the second of three chances for members to try our new season range for free. If you fancy a taste of summer there's still time to book a place on to our Caistor tasting session on Wednesday 13th July.
Our summer range is also available to purchase at your local food store.
