Top tips for travelling with kids

Travelling with kids may feel like a daunting task, but our Travel Consultant Kai has put together some handy tips and tricks to help you on our way!

✈️ Flights: Some places offer fast tracks, priority boarding and free transfers. So be sure to speak to us about what’s available and where you can save money.

🧳 Luggage, pushchairs and car seats: Some companies will offer extra luggage allowance for kids. Most airlines allow pushchairs as carry-on items (if they’re small and lightweight), but they can also be checked-in and used up until you get to the plane. There are also options for taking your car seat as a carry-on or checked in item – often for free!

❗ Essentials: Baby wipes are key for any accidents and spills. And don’t forget a change of clothes in your hand luggage just in-case.

💡 Pack smart: The temptation can be to pack the kitchen sink, but give yourself the time to pack effectively so you’re not juggling lots of heavy bags. Remember, you can buy a few things on your travels.

🧩 Activities: Pack some activities that are flat and lightweight - like books, sticker or colouring books, magnetic puzzles, fidget toys and sucker/spin toys. There’s also some handy pack away games like Guess Who? Screen time can also be helpful - download some games and their favourite programmes so there's something to do and watch.

🍬 Snacks: Don’t forget the snacks! Non-perishable and portable treats like crisps, sweets, dried fruit, snack bars and crackers are perfect. Be sure to check if there are any restrictions beforehand and be mindful of allergies.

🏡 Accommodation: Consider upgrading to a bigger room or an apartment so there’s plenty of space for everyone. Check if there are any dedicated kids’ clubs and amenities like pools playgrounds, or fun places to visit nearby.
