Hepatitis A & B

Understanding hepatitis A & B

Hepatitis A and B are viral infections that affect the liver. They are significant health concerns for travellers, especially when visiting regions where these infections are common.

  • Hepatitis A is usually spread through contaminated food and water. It can cause mild to severe illness, but most people recover fully with supportive care.
  • Hepatitis B is transmitted through contact with infected blood or bodily fluids. It can lead to chronic liver disease, liver cancer, or cirrhosis if not appropriately managed.

Importance of hepatitis vaccination

Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent Hepatitis A and B infections. Travellers to certain areas are at an increased risk, and vaccination offers protection and peace of mind during your trip.

Our participating pharmacies provide comprehensive vaccination services for Hepatitis A and B. We offer standalone vaccines and a combined vaccine that protects against both viruses.

Hepatitis B vaccine
