Yellow fever

What is yellow fever?

Yellow fever is a serious viral infection transmitted by mosquitoes, primarily found in parts of Africa and South America.

The virus can cause a range of symptoms, from mild fever and headaches to severe liver disease and bleeding. Given its potentially severe consequences, vaccination is crucial for travellers to high-risk areas.

Importance of yellow fever vaccination

Yellow fever vaccination is a vital health measure and a requirement for entry into certain countries. Many regions mandate proof of vaccination, documented through an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP), to prevent the spread of the virus.

Our participating pharmacies offer the yellow fever vaccine as part of our travel health services. The vaccine, known as Stamaril, is highly effective and provides long-lasting protection against the virus.
